Prof. Radhakrishnan P.S.
Prof. P.S. Radhakrishnan is professor in Malayalam at the School of Letters, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. His areas of specializations are: Indian Aesthetics, Critical Theory, Literary Criticism, Literary Historiography, Cultural Studies, popular Culture, Film Studies. He has 23 years of teaching experience to his credit. He served as Director (HOD), School of Letters from 3.9.2012 to 31.7.2016 and Dean ( language & literature ) from 1.8.2016 to 31.7.2018.
RESEARCH PROJECTS:
- ‘Vadakkanpatu Cinemakal Charithram, Samskaram, Deseeyatha’ (Kerala State Chalachithra Academy Navathi fellowship –ongoing)
- Socio-cultural History of Popular Novel in Malayalam UGC-Completed and submitted)
- Project on Nationalism and Cinema(principal investigator-completed and submitted.
PUBLICATIONS:
Published nearly one hundred and fifty articles on literary criticism, cultural studies literary historiography, popular culture and film studies in academic referred journals like Sahityalokam (official journal of Kerala Sahitya Academy),Grandhalokam (Official journal of Kerala State Library Council), Keli(Official journal of Kerala Sangetha Nadaka Academy),Janapadham (Official journal, State Public Relations Department), Research journal and Vijnana Kairali (Kerala State Institute of language) ,Bhasha Sahithi(Journal of University of Kerala), Malayala Sarvakalashala Journal and also mainstream journals including Mathrubhumi weekly, Samakalika Malayalam Vaarika , Madhyamam weekly etc. Has published more than 25 papers in edited volumes of books.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS:
Recipient of the National Film Award (Swarna Kamal, 2012) for best film critic for the Best film critic. Received Kerala State Film Awards (2008, 2009&2010) for best book on cinema. Kerala Film Critics award (2006, 2008& 2013) for the Best book and Writings on cinema. Also received Thayat Award for the Best book on Literary Criticism (Abudabi Sakthi theatres, 2011). Member, Editorial Committee, Haritham (Journal of School of Letters, having ISSN code).Editorial Member, Publication Committee, Malayala Sarvakalasala and Dravidian Language Institute Kuppam. Jury member Kerala Television Award (2012) and John Abraham Film Award(2013).
